2010 – 11 Winter Swim Season

The Barracudas welcome you to our winter season. We are excited for your swimmer to be swimming with us.

Winter swim team is a great time for beginner swimmers to work on stroke technique and develop a love for swimming.

Winter season is more competitive, but equally as fun as summer season. Swimmers will become more confident in their swimming and will show improvement continually through the season.

The Barracudas swim in the Piedmont YMCA Swimming Association, which is comprised of 11 teams throughout our region. Swim meets are held on the weekends.

Tadpole Program

There will be a Tadpole program this winter for those swimmers that are new to the sport. This program is a part of the swim team, but allows the younger children to have a shorter practice. As the Tadpoles progress, they will start more advanced practices and swim in meets.

Cost of being a Barracuda

All Barracudas must be members of the Bedford Area Family YMCA.

Cost: $60 first child

$50 second child

$40 third child

$30 for high school swimmers

Winter Coaches

Adam Butt has been employed by the Bedford YMCA for 9 years. He coached the Barracudas 2009—2010 winter season and 2010 summer season. He is also the head coach of the Liberty High School swim team. In his spare time, Adam enjoys kayaking and hiking.

Kendra Harvey coached the Barracudas 2009—2010 winter season and the 2010 summer season. She also helps the Liberty High School. She managed the Gator pool and coached in the LAL for three seasons. She swam nationally in Alaska and California. In her spare time, Kendra enjoys painting, running and spending time with her family.
